Old-vine Zinfandel
This wine opens with pronounced, youthful aromas of red cherry, cranberry, and blueberry, layered with vanilla and brioche. A more unusual top note of orange zest, rust, and cotton candy lends additional aromatic lift. On the palate, the wine is dry, with velvety tannins and fresh acidity that keep the body and alcohol in balance. Concentrated flavors of red cherry and blackberry give way to spice notes of licorice and vanilla, closing with a hint of flint on the finish. Drinking well now and expected to age gracefully for at least the next decade.
