Farming Notes
Attending to every detail
Organic from day one
Since we became new stewards in 2022, the vineyard has been farmed organically and regeneratively. The fruit is now certified organic, the result of four years of patient rebuilding.
A vineyard we brought back
When we arrived, the site was struggling with diseased vines, gopher damage, and years of hard pruning. Compost, cover crops, and careful farming have slowly returned it to health, and the soil today is visibly alive.
A place full of life
Because we farm this way, the vineyard is anything but sterile: peacocks and bluebirds, deer at the edges, and cover crops buzzing with insects between the rows—a testament to the vitality of this place.
The invisible work
Most of what we invest in never shows up on a label, from soil building and vine spacing to hand-harvesting and meticulous sorting. We do it because these small, unglamorous details are exactly what separates a very good wine from a truly exceptional one.
Old-world methods paired with new-world precision
Alongside the compost and cover crops, we use moisture-mapping technology to see exactly where and when the vines need water, block by block. Day to day, the vineyard is managed by Nick Antignano of Silverado Farming.
